Isu bantahan terhadap SOSMA yakni suatu akta yang dicipta menggantikan ISA kembali hangat diperkatakan setelah berita penangkapan beberapa individu yang dikaitkan dengan LTTE baru-baru ini.
Tetapi sedarkah anda bahawa bantahan terhadap SOSMA bukan dibuat sehari dua ini. Bantahan terhadapnya telah sekian lama dibuat ketika Hj Mohammad Sabu masih lagi Timbalan Presiden PAS, Lim Guan Eng masih Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang, dan Jho Low masih lagi belum terkenal.
Malah ketika Tun Mahathir masih lagi bertikam lidah dengan Perdana Menteri Najib Razak (ketika itu) beliau sendiri telah menandatangani satu surat bersama Tan Sri Sanusi Junid, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin dan Dato Sri Shafie Afdal memohon agar Peguam Matthias Chang dibebaskan dari SOSMA dan menggesa agar Akta yang menggantikan ISA itu dimansuhkan.
PAS juga suatu ketika dahulu amat lantang membantah SOSMA sama lantangnya dengan RUU355 yang cuba mereka bentangkan. Antara pemimpin yang lantang membantah SOSMA adalah Ustaz Idris Ahmad.
Kes Siti Aishah seorang pelajar master UM yang ditahan di bawah SOSMA pada 2016 kerana memiliki 12 buah buku berkaitan IS juga menjadi “buah tanggung” untuk pemimpin PAS menghentam kerajaan ketika itu.
Kini setelah beberapa tahun berlalu nama-nama yang dulunya lantang membantah SOSMA kini tidak kedengaran lagi. Adakah setelah menjadi kerajaan prinsip yang lama harus dibakulsampahkan?
Yang lebih pelik lagi ialah PAS. Dahulu sewaktu pembangkang lantang mengkritik SOSMA, kini setelah berkawan dengan UMNO terus mahu SOSMA dikekalkan.
Justeru itu, dalam isu SOSMA ini jangan ada pihak yang cuba menangguk di air yang keruh. Ia adalah suatu akta yang zalim yang harus dihapuskan.
